R.I.P. Winton
Winton got to go to heaven today. As much as we tried to fight it, it was past time for him to go. I got him in March of 2000 from Cape Cod sight unseen and he has been the sweetest dog to all of us and especially the kids, which is something you do not take lightly with small children. I am glad the kids got a chance to play with Winton when he was feeling OK. So enjoy our little tribute to him in the pictures below and his brother Champ in all the good times we had. It's a very sad time as we close this chapter in our lives as Winton and Champ were our babies before our children. Now they can go off and run and play together with Ray! We miss you all!

1st Day of School 2012-2013

1st day of school
Celie was by far the best one today!
She walked down that hall like she owned that place with her bag on her shoulder and and a little swag in her step.
She was greeted with a BIG hug from her teacher Ms Johanna.
Mason and Buie in the back of my car heading up to the top of the hill for donuts with all the kids from the neighborhood. Mason was VERY excited.......Buie on the other hand was "trying" to be excited but he wasn't at all!!
Some our neighbors had a going off to school party for the kids with donuts and juice and fruit and so most of the little ones went to the last stop out of the neighborhood so they got to eat, play and get on the bus together.
 Mason, Buie and Boss
 Looks can be deceiving
One last family shot before the bus came.

Off they go....too bad I didn't get the shot of Buie bawling looking out the bus window at us like, "don't   make me go to school."

And they returned safe and sound.
No more tears, but very glad to be home. I wonder how tomorrow will go?

Boss
Oh, did I mention in all the craziness of this summer that we adopted a dog? We rescued him from a high kill shelter in Alabama. Buie has been asking for his “own” dog for a while now and I was just not ready. But after asking all the time and considering Winton’s (our 12 year old yellow lab that is not doing well) condition, I figured now was as good a time as ever. So the transition from dog to dog would not be as hard for the kids. Boss, came with the name of checkers, but we changed it to Boss (Champ our chocolate lab we lost 2 years ago was named after Champ Bailey and so in honor of him we named our new dog after Champ’s brother, Boss Bailey both UGA football players). He is a mix of a lab and an English Pointer we think. He was 5 months old when we adopted him on June 23rd. He’s a sweet dog, but I am not use to having a puppy around and the attention they need so they do not destroy your house. We have a ways to go with him, but we love him and are glad we could save his sweet little life.
