Water Bugs

Celie did a ballet/tap/gymnastics class on Mondays since January. Some days she liked it, some days she didn’t. If you were good and behaved, you got 2 stamps, but if you did not then you only got 1. I must admit Celie had 2 days where she only got 1 stamp and probably didn’t even deserve that. She did like getting to dress up, thanks to her cousins past recital outfit and Janell’s costume she gave her. Above she had a day where the parents could go in the class (normally we sit behind the glass and watch) and see what they have learned and she got a ribbon at the end that she was very proud of.  She could have done a recital, but I didn’t sign her up for that as I was certain she would be the one to pitch a fit and refuse to go up there, so we will wait until she is a little bit older.

School’s out!

 first day of Kindergarten

These are the neighborhood kids and note the size of the boy in front and the blonde in the back and how big 5th graders get. This was shocking to me and sad that my little Mason will be them in 5 years. Look how tiny he looks!
Our neighborhood got an ice cream truck for the kids on the last day of school for when they got off the bus. They had a blast eating ice cream and shooting each other with water.
What a fun year it was and now Mason is in the 1st grade!

Sope Creek are you ready for these 2?
Trying not to flash forward 12 years from now!

Happy Mother’s Day

We had a wonderful lunch for my mom over at my brother’s house...
... where mom got to see 6 of her 8 grandchildren...
...all of which Chris missed out on as he assumed this position, all because he got “over served” the night before at the Zac Brown Band concert! Can’t wait for Father’s Day!
The little ones don’t know or don’t care if you are hungover, they still have bundles of energy and we added a little sugar on top.

Happy Mother’s day to all the wonderful moms out there!

Well, I finally took Celie to get her 1st hair cut!!! It was a big deal, everyone told me not to, but they did not have to live the day to day fighting with Celie over brushing her hair, putting it up in a ponytail or pigtails or a bun! It was bad and I had had enough so I took her to get it all cut off. We did it in stages, as it is better to do a little at a time because you can’t put back on what you have already cut off.

Here she is as we walked out the door to go to Joseph’s (where I get my hair cut).
Can you tell Megan is nervous to cut all of her pretty hair?
Thank goodness Celie loved her and was very patient.
Here she is after cut #1.

Very excited to get her “icy thing” for being such a good girl. I can bribe her with almost anything except when it comes to putting her hair up !
And now we are back for hair cut #2 because mommy did not think she took enough off. I was still having to brush it and put it back, so we went back for more.
Here they all are after they all got their summer cuts! They all must be cooler now!
