Buies turns 5! He was so excited he woke up with Mason at 6:15 and went with us to the bus stop. Mason personally picked him out 2 presents from Target, one for his real birthday and one for the day of his party. The birthday party was a lot of fun! We invited his class along with friends and family and went to CatchAir. We had a motorcycle cookie cake ( motorcycle cake #2--one for his class also) and gave out motorcycles for his party favors. We’ll see how long his motorcycle crush goes on, I don’t see him getting one anytime soon!

Steeplechase
Dad and Pam took our family, and both my brothers and their families to steeplechase. We had beautiful weather, which was a nice change from the last 2 trips(cold and wet, and raining the next). We squeezed into 2 cars and left bright and early (with bloody mary’s in hand). We first went to the kids area to let them play, which was probably a mistake, because they all loved it, but it was all a rip off at the same time. Then we ate at our tailgate, which was delicious and then went to claim our spot on the hill to wait for the horses. For each race everyone picked the horse they thought would win. This was a fun way to do it to keep the kids interested in each race(which was only 3 minutes long with 30 minutes in between). We had great company and a lot of fun, thanks to all parties involved!
You must wear a hat to steeplechase! ZZ made all the ones for the little girls.
Celie and Buie going for a pony ride. This was the closest picture we have to something in the horse family.
The guys minus Jason looking cool.
Hudson (on the left) and Mason (upside down) taking a turn on the bungee jump.
Buie getting some style points for his flip. The kids had more fun doing this stuff that the “real” reason we were there.........to watch horse races!

Easter

Here they are getting ready for their first hunt of the season (not to mention all the practice hunts we had getting ready for Easter)
Celie with the Easter Bunny (a.k.a. Grandpa)
All of the kiddos were very excited to see the Easter Bunny.
and they’re off....
Celie got a little extra help
not that she needed it with all of her practice she got
Off to their second hunt of the season at Grandpa and ZZ's
again, Celie getting help from the adults
Mason shows he needed no help, he is a pro at this
MONEY? Buie found money in his golden egg!
all ready to go in her Easter best
this is Celie’s attempt of taking our picture. we had to lean in to help her out.
Lunch at Grandma’s with Caddie and Crawford
Now they are on hunt #3
Caddie was not wanting to participate
Mason liked the blue eggs but did not discriminate
High, low, in things, under things...
Buie raking in the eggs
Finally Caddie wanted in on the fun and she even found the silver egg
And look who found the golden egg?
we had another fake hunt in the front yard at Grandma’s and Caddie was having none of it again. Classic shot of her throwing a fit! Oh I can’t wait until Celie turns 3!
And for the last and final hunt, they wasted no time at Granny’s hunting and gathering
look at all those eggs!
Celie’s best bud (for the moment)
Granny and 6 of her 8 grand kids
they had so much fun opening them all up to find lots of surprises
thank you Granny for not putting much candy in them!!!!

Spring Break/ Staycation

We started off the week by going to Mt Bethel to feed the turtles (and fish), walk around the lake and play on the playground.

Celie likes to feed the animals, but really likes to feed herself, so I to make sure the bread is not too old because she will nibble on some.
Buie, trying to throw it far so the fish won’t get it all.
Mason, studying the animals when they come up to get the bread.
This is how Mason gets Celie to look at the camera
 Buie and his sweet smile
The boys were trying to work on their baseball form. It was funny to listen to them.
My monkey, Mason, swinging on the monkey bars.
Celie, was so excited to get to play on the “BIG kids” playground that she never gets to play on.
She and Buie loved being spun by Mason. Makes me dizzy just looking at the picture.
 Superheros!
The next day, we went to pick strawberries at Southern Belle Farms. It was an awesome farm and the strawberries were ready to pick and delicious. Mason was very goo at picking the big red ones.
Celie wanted to pick every one she saw, so it took a little bit for her to learn the right ones to pick.
This was before the baskets got too heavy to carry.
Buie was very goo at it too.
Group shot did not go as planned......
 ....someone would not cooperate!
Buie even helped out Celie, because it was too heavy for her.
This farm even had animals to see. Cows above were to far to touch, but...
..this pretty fella, came right on up. The boys thought it was hilarious.
The boys busy coloring their eggs for Easter.
You know who loved it too and made a big mess as usual.

Wednesday the kids played at Grandma’s and then we took them to Chuck E Cheese.
Thursday they played at ZZ’s and Friday Banessa took them to Catch Air. They got lots of treat all week and stayed up way too late. I will say, it was nice to stay in town and not have a schedule to follow.
