Happy 35th Birthday Chris!

We had some of Chris’s buddies over for pizza and beer on his birthday, which ended up being a lovely night to be outside playing corn hole and sitting by the fire. Above with his high school buddies, Jeff, Beau, Jay, Frank, Clint.

Amanda and Sarah joined us for a little bit too before they left me with all the guys.

Whitney took one for the team (girls) and did a birthday shot with Chris. Jay was a wimp and held it for the pic, but wasn’t man enough to actually do it!

A rare shot of the 2 of us.

Game time! Not sure who won, but they had fun playing.

I don’t think Clint was on the winning team!

Amanda and Kelly sitting around the fire.

The birthday cupcakes from Gigi’s. we cut them up so we could all try different ones. Al of one kind is too much. They were good though.

Angry Pumpkins!!

Oh the things you will do for your children.....

So here is our family of pumpkins. The 3 on the right are the real ones from Burt’s farm, the “other” ones are our fake ones painted as angry birds. THis all started when we saw the pumpkins for auction at Mason’s fall festival at Sope Creek and there were a couple of angry birds that he REALLY wanted, but I was not paying $80+ for an angry bird. So, Chris agreed to try and make them some. Of course we could not do just one, Mason’s are the blue ones, Buie has the black ones and Celie’s are the pigs. If you have never played this game then you just might not appreciate these.

Field trip to Cherokee YMCA
I volunteered to help chaperone Mason's class on their first field trip last week, I am sure the first of many. We went to the Cherokee YMCA to see a day in the life of a Pilgrim. They got to see what kind of "toys" the kids played with and then they got to make one. Well, actually they gave them a wooden top and the kids got to color it. Then they saw how important apples are they got to taste apple cider. After that we went on a tractor ride through the grounds and each kid got to pick a pumpkin and take it home. The last rotation was to see how they made butter which I did not get to go to since I had to go set up lunch, but they got to see them make it and then taste it. It was a very cute field trip and we were lucky to have had a gorgeous day.
Mason, 2 of his buddies, Ian and Carl. BTW, both of those little boys are on his soccer team too.
Here's his whole class with their pumpkins.
Mason, watching his top spin after he colored it.
It was not just his class, but the whole Kindergarten from Sope Creek.

Johnny Appleseed was there to lead the way. Very cute!

Happy 60th Birthday Mom!
Here’s a picture of mom a few years ago!
She doesn’t look 60 does she?
Almost the whole crew (Chris and Jason’s family are missing)
Chocolate cake from Cecelia’s in Athens (best cakes in the world if you have never had one) and the candles on top had colored flames which were very cool. (I didn’t have 60 of them)
All the little ones wanted to help blow out the candles and hopefully they didn’t spit on the cake.

Burt’s Pumpkin Farm 2011
We actually went for Charlotte White’s 4th birthday party. It was much different than her 2nd birthday there, which was raining. It was a gorgeous day and the kids were so excited to go pick out our pumpkin.

Getting ready to go pick out pumpkin
Oh, which one to pick out?
Cheese!
“This one”, was what Celie said to every pumpkin we passed, which was a lot of pumpkins.

On our hay ride to go see the talking pumpkins!

Here we are “trying" to get a good family Christmas card picture. Do you think we should use this one?

Or maybe this one?

Charlotte was very excited about her bug cupcakes.

Celie was too! She got more on her face than in her mouth.

Looks like he’s up to something he shouldn’t be huh? He really wanted to get in that water, but I told him not too. No fun mom!

Wheeler Club at the Zoo
Our September event for the Wheeler Club was at the Zoo over Labor Day weekend ( I know I am very behind) and the Calverts, Starrs, Benichs, Buices and Crawfords were all there to enjoy all the animals. Above, Mason, Buie and Wade visit our first animal the elephant.
Celie asks.....Celie receives! Her Godfather spoiling her, when mommy told her she could not have a frozen lemonade (pink) before lunch!
Here’s our crew.
Of course we had to go on a train.....do you see who is in the picture? WADE........he still loves trains and my kids are more than happy to oblige.
She’ll be coming round the mountain when she comes....

Kids getting a glimpse of the Giraffe.

Choo, choo!

Rounding out the fun day, we had dinner at the Starr’s house to then watch fireworks at Indian HIlls and they got cancelled AGAIN, so we just proceeded to tear up the very clean Starr house. Sorry!
