Jacksonville Triathlon #1 (stayed tuned for #2 & #3)
This was the 1st of 3 race held actually at Amelia Island. Chris and I did this race alone (other than 600+people) I just mean no friends or family. Last year we got my oldest brother to do it with us. He said he is still injured form last year's race. So this year it was 1/4 mile swim, 16 mile bike and 3 mile run. Chris finished in 1 hour 12 minutes and AGAIN got an award. 1st in the clydesdale group. I did it in 1 hour 30 minutes.
Looking nervous? I know I was, but I can't speak for Chirs. This is the point of each race that I question why I pay to do this to myself.
So I told you no one did this race with us, well I sort of lied. I told my brother since he wouldn't do the race with us that he must wake up and run the last leg with me or I would stop and walk some of it. SO sure enough, he ran 3 miles with me and thank God for him or I don't think I would have made it. He was very encouraging to have next me and pushing me the whole time. I was DEAD and he was running backwards talking to me saying"let's catch that guys" and then he would pick some else for us to catch. It worked, because we passed more people than passed us.
