Spring Break 2013
"Morning Star"
So this is the first year that my kids really knew what "spring break" was. I guess there is lots of talk at school and on the bus about "where are you going for spring break"! So we planned a low key escape to the beach with some of our neighbors to go to our families beach house. Well, I jumped the gun a bit and asked everyone before we confirmed the beach house, since it is not really ours. (It's my dad's and his 2 brothers and all the family members that go along with each of them) Short story is the week we wanted got snatched up just before our pick and we were out of luck. SO, we scrambled and got very lucky to find a house (thanks to my old boss) in Blue Mountain Beach, Fl. On the 30A strip. The house was amazing. Slept 16 if we needed it to, but we shared it with 2 other families and had plenty of room. Bonus was the heated pool that came along with it. Since there is no guarantee in early April that it will be warm in Florida, the warm pool came in handy. Needless to say we had a blast and we be more than happy to go back any time.
The kids loved going up on top of the roof to catch the sunset. No editing was done to this picture, these are the real colors of the sky!
It was the perfect little neighborhood. It was gated so the kids could ride/run around and we did not have to worry about lots of cars.
Up to no good........being led by none other than.......Celie!
Out to the beach!
Just missing Gus.
Looks like it was warm huh?
Well, maybe it was if you didn't get wet.
Daddy will do anything for her!
Once you touched the water, some form of scream came out with the loss of your breath. Brrrr!
Activities director, building a sandcastle.
Poor Buie got a little sun kissed the first day, since mommy somehow missed him with the sunscreen.
This was actually the spot that Chris proposed to me, oh 11 years ago!
3 happy little boys
This was the view out the front of the house. It was across the street from the beach overlooking a vacant lot, which made you feel like you were on the beach.
Here was our little saving grace for the week.
